HATTON BACK ON THE PEPSI AGAIN
4 Oct 2006

Last year’s International Midget World series winner Scott Hatton is making the trip down to Western Springs for the third year in a row this coming season.

The popular American has won the series two years running and hopes to retain the title during the January/February international midget race series. Hatton has signed for the series and is looking forward to the off season trip.

“Winning the series and the 50 lapper at Western Springs is up there with winning the Chilibowl for me, the racing is so competitive and the crowds are incredible, so supportive.”

Hatton will be the captain of the 6 man Team USA this season. A position he takes up after driving his way into the top points position during January’s racing earlier this year.

Dwight Huston the owner of Huston Solution Racing is putting a big effort in for the 2007 series. The Pepsi racing midget will make a welcome return to Western Springs after a year off. The Mopar powered No.15 car may again prove unbeatable in the 50 lapper. Huston certainly hopes so.

“I’m looking forward to seeing more of New Zealand and the team and I are focused on winning races. We’re bringing a very competitive car and spares package down this time.

The team will travel to the two South Island rounds of the series to be held at Powerbuilt Speedway in Christchurch on the 25th and 27th January.

Hatton won the 2nd annual Chilibowl race in 1998 and will leave the USA immediately after racing in the 2007 21st running of the famous Tulsa race to fly to Auckland for Thursday night’s 30 lap World Midget Derby. The first and opening round of the 6 race series which will culminate back at Western Springs for the King of the Springs 40 lap feature on February 5th.
