One of Western Spring’s favourite drivers returns to the historic track this season. Shane Alach will once again join the ultra competitive midget car field when the season opens on November the 4th in Auckland this summer.
Long time speedway stalwart and ex motorcycle ace Bob Haldane has put together an extremely competitive package for the popular Auckland driver. A brand new Esslinger power plant will be fitted into a Tim Clark designed Breka chassis. The collaboration with Breka is a bit of departure for Alach who more recently would have been behind the wheel of one of his family’s Alach chassis cars.
“I am excited about the new package and the new deal with Bob, said Alach, the new Esslinger will have heaps of go and Tim has put together a great chassis”
The engine leaves Esslinger in the USA this week and a motivated Alach is pleased to see that the car will be complete well in advance of the season start.
“I’m at the gym already and I want to be fit and have the car ready for the start of the season Alach said. It has been good to have a season off and be able to come back well prepared with such a competitive car.”
There has been no shortage of money spent this winter off-season, with many drivers and teams upgrading cars and engines, but whatever happen in the midget ranks Shane Alach is guaranteed to put on a show.
