SPEEDWAY SEASON HAS TWO MORE MEETINGS
26 May 2006

As a result of the new agreement between Springs Promotions, Auckland City and the residents action group the 06/07 summer speedway season at Western Springs will extend to a 12 race meeting calendar.

This means that speedway fans and drivers will get two more meetings than the previous season’s 10 events and all meetings can be run at realistic normal noise levels. This will mean racing as usual at Western Springs Speedway.

The season opens on November 4th with a fireworks and lightshow event and the opening round of the Springs National Championship series. The eight round series runs through the season and the final round will wrap up the racing on March 3rd 2007.

The International Sprint car Classic will be run in December and will see the return to the Springs of Outlaw Craig Dollansky and the Australian team.

A four round Midget World Series starts in January and includes the 30 and 50lapper races. This series finishes in February with the “King of the Springs” $10,000 to win feature race.

This coming season will also see the return of the SNZ New Zealand Sprint Car Championship to the Springs in February.
