As it is forecast for heavy rain in Auckland this Friday night and Saturday night, a decision has been made to postpone the 2009 NZ TQ Championships until March 7, the final meeting of the 08/09 summer season at Western Springs Speedway. 

We have been running weather models now for the last five days and as much as a weather forecaster can predict, the prediction is that this weekend will more than likely be a washout. There are a large number of TQ Midget teams travelling from around the country and as host to this Championship we felt it is important to make this call earlier than later, with a near certainty of rain both on Saturday and Sunday.  There is also no rain date for the meeting on Saturday night (Feb. 28) for this Sunday.

The 2009 NZ TQ championship will now run next week as a double header alongside the 2009 New Zealand Midget Grand Prix at Western Springs. This means at this stage, weather permitting, the meeting for this Saturday is still on but without the New Zealand TQ Championship. 

Western Springs Speedway would like to thank the Hawkes Bay Speedway Club in Napier for agreeing to shift the New Zealand TQ Midget Grand Prix to accommodate the late change for the New Zealand TQ Midget Championship.  They have made a bold decision to accommodate what we all believe is the best outcome for a tricky situation.

The meeting on the 7^th March will most likely start earlier – this start time will be notified at a later date.
