Auckland's Brad Mosen won his first 50-Lap Midget World Championship at Western Springs Speedway tonight. The race featured a scintillating battle between Mosen, American star Jerry Coons Jnr., and former 50-Lap winner Shayne Alach.

With points leader Shaun Insley involved in an early race clash with defending IMWS Champion Brad Kuhn, which ended their races, Mosen also won the 2009 International Midget World Series, from Shayne Alach, and Insley .

The NZ Test Team dominated the Profreight International Test Series against the USA Team, with a resounding 4-0 victory over the four nights of racing. Michael Pickens won the Herman Tros Memorial Sheild for the third time, as the top individual points scorer from both teams.
