Auckland dished out some of the unpredictable weather the city is so famous for last night and the rain that had been threatening all evening finally came down just as the Sprint Car Classic feature race was about to start. The full evening’s race program leading up to the 30 lap feature had been completed and the Sprint Cars were on the track when a light drizzle turned into persistent rain and officials made the decision not to start the race. The $20,000 race will be run on the 26th December with the start positions from Saturday’s postponed race remaining the same. “All the drivers had qualified for this race and they’ve worked hard for their start position. said Clerk of Course Dave Stewart. We want to give them a shot at the money and all the fans a chance to see the race they missed out on.” The starting line-up for the Classic on the 26th December will be as follows: Sprint Car Classic 30lap feature race Grid | Car # | Driver | | Grid | Car # | Driver | 1 | 7 | Craig Dollansky | | 2 | 56 | Carl Wilson | 3 | 47 | Ossie Sokol | | 4 | 27 | Allan Wakeling | 5 | 22 | Dean Brindle | | 6 | 10 | Ricky Logan | 7 | 84 | Kerry Jones | | 8 | O7 | Jason Statler | 9 | 1 | Jamie McDonald | | 10 | 18 | Greg Pickerill | 11 | 75 | Tom Rusher | | 12 | 21 | Mark Browne | 13 | 11 | Raymond Griffen | | 14 | 7P | Brent Harris | 15 | 9 | Havard Daniels | | 16 | 35 | Hans Boere | 17 | 11P | Ian Easton | | 18 | 24 | Martin Halcrow | 19 | 96 | Jeremy Halpin | | 20 | 6 | Brett Sanford |
