KIWIS FIGHT BACK
20 Jan 2007

The New Zealand midget team fought back from a 2 point deficit in the test race series to take a dominant lead after tonights two test races.

Thurday's racing saw the teams compete in only one test race but tonight's programme allowed the teams to race twice. The 12 car 12 lap races are intense affairs with each countries team fighting for the total team's points.

New Zealand scored 47 points in each of the two test races at Western Springs tonight against the Americans 31. The New Zealanders now lead the US in the series by 30 points.

Consistent top individual points scorer has been Cory Kruseman with Kiwi Shayne Alach following closely. As the teams head south to Christchurch next week the start grids rotate and both drivers will move towards the back of the start line-up and will find it tougher going to stay in front.

The next test race takes place on Thursday 25th January at Powerbuilt Speedway in Christchurch.
